  • Another elementary question

I had a right side IH repaired by open procedure, with mesh, about a year ago. Overall, I'm satisfied with the results-I can work on my feet all day and that is criteria I'm interested in. Now I am planning surgery for a left side IH, which developed about five months after my other-side surgery. Is there any reason to think the new surgery will have an impact on the old one? They are on opposite sides of course, but I can't help but wonder. I haven't seen this question addressed here, but I imagine other people are wondering the same thing. Thanks for any input.

Fixing the new hernia should not affect the previous repair.
    Best wishes.

Thank you for that. My surgeon told me the same thing, but it was a while before I could ask him.
